As a scientist by training I began my childbirth research before I became pregnant with my first child. I wanted to know everything there was to know about the topic. The more I read, the more I learned, the more I became passionate about giving birth - and I hadn't even done it before! I started giving my friends lots of unsolicted advice and the excitement about childbirth began to really take hold of me.
In 2010, I gave birth to my daughter and couldn't keep all that I had learned to myself any longer! I was called to teach others about birth in the summer of 2011. I began teaching childbirth classes at my church and soon after earned my certification through the Academy of Certified Birth Educators (ACBE) in 2012. I have since received continuing education through recertification and conferences. In 2016 I attended the Internation Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN) conference in Birmingham, AL, a multi-day conference learning about cesarean sections and vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC). I have received continuing education through conferences and Evidence Based Birth courses.
I married my wonderful husband in 2007, and together we have 4 beautiful babies who are growing way too fast. I believe Jesus Christ is the son of the living God, and he very much has a plan and a place in each birth. My goal is to teach couples how to acheive the birth they desire while learning God's plan for their birth and keeping their mind and heart securely grounded in their faith in Jesus Christ during pregnancy and especially during the hours of labor, birth, and postpartum.
